My name is Katie Cohen, I am currently a junior at Towson University. My major is Elementary Education and I am eager to begin my teaching career. Throughout this ISTC class I have learned different techniques and methods I can utilize within my classroom to engage students to the best of my ability. Technology is growing rapidly in our society, kids these days have access to computers, game systems, smart phones and much more. It is up to future teachers to understand and use technology in our classroom so that we are keeping up with our students and the times. Technology should not replace education, instead it should be used as an aid for all students to get the best education possible. The UDL approach says that teachers need to work hard to fit the needs for all diverse learners. Utilizing technology helps teachers differentiate work to reach the needs for those diverse learners, and it helps students stay engaged in learning. Technology is a memorable way to educate students, which definitely fits under the UDL approach.
